For this last week I had to have a good think about what I was going to choose for this theme and thought what describes our day to day rituals more than the possessions we have/use/see? Yes, for this week I am going to take a photo of the possessions that go about my everyday life whether I just walk past them or use them so here goes.

Day 64- So something I have always loved using is candles. I use them all the time to try and save electricity and keep the place looking cosy during winter time. Something I have been doing for a while now is making candles by melting the wax and putting it in all sorts of of different containers, ornaments etc to make them look more appealing and shabby chic. The first thing I ever used was old teacups so this is why I took a picture of one of the candles I was using at the time as I was proud of how they looked and it shows my personality and how I like things to look decor-wise. Getting to the image I made, I thought it would be more visually appealing if i blurred the surroundings of the teacup so that it focused on the main thing that I wanted people to see...the candle. The main focus is the centre of the photo with the candle light and the teacup surrounding the candle with the delicate floral pattern.

Day 65- Disposable cameras in my opinion explain a lot about my personality. Growing up my hobby was taking photos and i used to go through so many of these. From the beginning of January i have decided to use them again as much as a possibly can because they are so unlike taking a photograph on a digital device- the reason behind my promise to myself to keep up using film is because it's becoming a dying field when this was the original form of photography and the fact that you don't see what you have taken until it's all been developed so to me it's an exciting experience. The reason I took this photo in black and white is because of the film canestors that were included in the photo that were used a few weeks ago and they were black and white.

Day 66- I love anything retro and this watch was a present from my dad last christmas. The fact that it's completely focused on the watch face to show the time shows that it's an object I always use and rely on for the time but can also be stylish as watches have become a fashion accessory although we all use our phones for the time. The fact that this photograph is in color shows the modernity of the photo and the fact that the important thing about this photo is the watch although you can see my clothing behind it.

Day 67- One thing about my style is the fact that I love rings. I love wearing too many of them all the time because my hands are the only thing I really like about myself. My problem is that i buy too many rings and then some rings I never end up wearing and they end up never being used as i only wear my favorites. The rings i buy are usually boho chic and have crystals in which means I can never resist looking through old jewelery. Taking a close up picture of these rings sells them and a recent job that I have started is actually taking photos of jewelery for a company website. These rings describe my style and the sheet they are laying on conveys my sense of decor style.

Day 68- An older object I walk past everyday but always notice- the photo of me and my Grandad. Sadly he passed away but the fact that there's a reminder of our relationship is always something to cheer me up. Some people dont like to keep photos of people they love that have died but to me it's a reminder to keep moving and work hard. This frame that the photo is in is full of different pictures in the back but you wouldn't know as it only looks like it's holding one photo. It's also broken so many times and been put back together with superglue, each time upset me more and more. The black and white to this photo shows that this was an older memory and a classic photo which will always be one of my favourites. The negative space around the the object is something I aimed for with this one as it focuses on the key element of the photo. The object. Looking back i realise I should have taken photos of more things like this so that the key focus was in the middle of all the white so the viewer would have nothing else to look at.

Day 69- Everybody can relate to loving music, well almost everybody. So I thought I would take a photograph of my vinyl player with a few I have collected over the years. This is probably my most used thing other than my speakers as I listen to music to help me with so many emotions. As you can see from my last photo for day 68 I took my own advice and decided to make sure that I had white backgrounds for this so you could focus on the colourful cover art of the albums I have and make them the main focus. Most music albums are a work of art and deserve to be appreciated more.

Day 70- Yet another camera but something that takes me back to when I was so little. My parents could never afford to buy me a polaroid and then this was advertised I wanted it for christmas but never got it. A sad memory but a few years back I found it in a charity shop and fixed it up so it worked again. I was incredibly pleased with myself and felt like I had really achieved something that i had been waiting for for ages. The bright colours of this camera surrounded by the negative space really do make it stand out and something amazing to look at. I guess this photo was taken because of the nostalgia and wanting as a child.
